Invitation to the 2026 CMDO Winter Camp

MyRoad, in collaboration with the Cardiometabolic Health, Diabetes and Obesity Research Network (CMDO), is calling for applications from doctoral students, postdoctoral fellows and residents to participate in the CMDO Winter Camp held February 6 to 10, 2026 at Hôtel Chéribourg, Magog-Orford, Quebec.

Successful applicants to this Winter Camp program will participate in an intensive “all expenses paid” four-day interactive workshop with internationally renowned speakers discussing research in cardiometabolic health, diabetes, obesity, knowledge translation and patient-oriented research.

Specifically, this training in translational research will touch on the following four areas of research:

  • Basic research and pre-clinical;
  • Nutrition, physical activity and human pathophysiology;
  • Life habits, risk factors and population interventions throughout life cycles and;
  • Organization of health care, use and sharing of knowledge.

Pre-camp activities include:

  • Two practical workshops via videoconference: Perfectionnement en écriture and Comment préparer une demande de fonds gagnante;
  • Approximately 22 hours of video capsules (16 theoretical courses) prepared by our experts and which cover all CMDO themes, from the molecule to the health system;
  • A practical exercise – Writing, as a team, a letter of intent for an international project with constructive feedback/comments during the camp.

The camp include:

  • A series of interactive thematic workshops;
  • A complete simulation of the evaluation of funding requests; and
  • Discussion with experts during networking activities.

After the camp, you are invited to participate to the MetaboliQc 2026 Annual Conference which will be held Ferbruary 11 to 13, 2026 at the Sheraton hotel, Saint-Hyacinthe, Quebec.

Please note that the activity will be conducted in French only

 

Travel award

An award up to $750 from the MyRoad platform will be allocated to a selected participant from outside the province of Quebec to cover travel expenses. Accommodation, meals and transportation between the Winter Camp and the MetaboliQc Conference locations will be provided by the CMDO.

Eligibility criteria:

  • Be a doctoral student, postdoctoral fellow or a resident in the field of obesity, diabetes and cardiometabolic diseases;
  • Not having any other source of funding to participate in this event.

How to apply?

We invite applicants to share lived or professional experiences that they feel may relate to their submission. Applicants should feel free to share as little or as much as they wish according to their comfort level. Any information shared will be kept confidential by the selection committee. For the purposes of evaluation, we take care to recruit a diverse committee reflecting the profiles of the applicants and we ensure that the evaluation process considers the career stage and individual context of each applicant, including atypical trajectories. Please ensure that your application meets the eligibility criteria of the funding call.

  4. Please provide a confirmation from supervisor that no other sources of travel funding is available
